Back in December 2017, The Humber Bridge Board started a competition asking for photographers to send in images, or go out and take images of the Humber Bridge according to the monthly theme for their #yourbridge photo competition. Each month a new theme would be selected and photographers at all levels would be allowed to take part.
I was delighted the other day when I received an email from the Humber Bridge team saying that my entry for March had won. The theme for March was Wildlife, and the image I entered was an image I had captured a few weeks prior to the competition starting. This is one of the good things about this competition, you were allowed to submit entries which were taken before the competition started.
My image featured two swans on Hessle Foreshore taken during sunset with a sky full of colour and a milky River Humber. This image would be displayed on their Facebook banner until the next competition winner for the next month is selected.
Each winner will then have their photo featured in a 2019 Humber Bridge calendar, and also the possibility of their image being used on the Humber Bridge website.
It is also nice as a photographer to win any competition, especially if it includes my image being featured in a calendar, knowing that many people will have my image hanging on their wall for at least a month.
