It has been a while since I've been out with my camera to capture a sunrise. So this morning I decided to go and capture one on a very cold and frosty morning. Originally the weather forecast I looked at the night before said it would be clear skies, so I wasn't expecting it to be anything special. Luckily this was one of those occasions when I was glad they got the forecast wrong. Instead of it being clear skies, it was slightly cloudy. At first I thought the sky looked too dull with no break in the clouds for the sun to peep through. That was until I got to my location which was near Hull Marina, and Albert Dock and saw on the horizon breaks in the clouds and a nice red glow.
So I found the composition and waited for the sun to rise a little higher. My first few shots were OK but I wasn't getting the atmosphere in the photos and they lacked colour. I decided to add a 0.6 and a 0.9 ND Hard Grad Filter and tried again. This time I was getting the result I wanted to capture.
Below is the final image I took, from this morning's sunrise.
